International School Technology Exchange Committee

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good company in Asia for face to face training in the Asia region? Preferably on Moodle or Joomla, but any useful IT course would be good (except a microsoft course, dont need another one of those!) I can't find any courses in Ho Chi Minh where I am teaching at current so anywhere in Asia would be ok. There are 2 teachers at my campus looking at doing this for our PD this year and I am struggling to find anywhere that could provide a 2-3 day course.

Thanks,

Chris Powell

Hi Chris,
As you may know I am leaving my current position at BIS, Phuket to become an 'Independent'.offering elearning and software services and training to International schools.
I am currently in the process of setting up my business (which will still be Phuket based) and creating my new web site (which should be ready for release during term 3). I will be offering afforable Moodle hosting solutions (as well as a new version of my own IGCSE ICT course) and also training and support. I will also be offering Open Source software and Cloud Computing (Google Apps) solutions and training.
I would be delighted to put together something for your school based on your requirments - and what about other Vietnam based schools? - Could you host a workshop? - The earliest I can oblige would be Term one next academic year, from August onwards.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Best regards,
Clive Roberts

Great IT service

Like most Ops managers, I’ve come across and dealt with my fair share of IT disasters. I’ve gone the route of hiring an in-house staff, only to realize that it exhausted my budget and half the time I was paying for employees to sit around and wait for a disaster to strike. I’ve also gone the route of hiring an outside company to run my IT support, again only to find that I was being overcharged at every turn and I had no REAL immediate support, more like we were put into a “Queue” and when our n… Continue
