International School Technology Exchange Committee

To go with the concerns with the printer situation the network situation is very poor! I am far from being a network guru but i do know there are serious issuses with the network. We do not have a network manager only a network technician who set up the network and the server in his own way and not standard methods. As you can imagine the network sort of works but suffers from lag and sooner or later will self implode due to demand on the network.
Where can i or the school go to sort the network situation out? Can i get someone in from a company to redo the network and do training with myself and the network technician (how much were talking)? How do other schools manage the network situation? I am trying to encourage the school to invest in a network manager, where does the school approach to employ one, how much are you talking re wages for them?

Recently put a day aside to reflect (review) my own Personal Learning Network ... which is full of Web 2.0 tools.
